Alco-Screen and Alco-Screen 02 Controls
The Alco-Screen and Alco-Screen 02 Control solutions may be used to comply with CLIA regulations or to test the viability of either the Alco-Screen orAlco-Screen 02 strip devices. The controls are formulated as a Positive Control and a Negative Control. The Controls will give false results if used on any other test or instrumentation since they are formulated specifically for use with the Alco-Screen and Alco-Screen 02 saliva alcohol testing devices. In the case of the Alco-Screen 02, the DOT requires that a quality control check be done on one or more testing strips with each new ordered box. The controls allow the operator to meet the DOT requirements for conducting quality control checks.
Instructions for use with the Alco-Screen Testing Kit
Step 1 – Allow the controls to come to room temperature. Mix contents thoroughly.
Step 2 – Place one to two drops of the solution from the test pad. 
Step 3 – After 10 seconds shake the excess solution from the test pad.
Step 4 – At 2 minutes read the test. 
Expected Results
Positive Control – The test pad shows any color change ranging from light green to dark blue.
Negative Control – The test pad shows no color change and matches the negative color block on the foil package.

Step 1 – Allow the controls to come to room temperature. Mix contents thoroughly.
Step 2 – Place one to two drops of the solution from the test pad.
Step 3 – After 10 seconds shake the excess solution from the test pad.
Step 4 – At 4 minutes read the test. 
Expected Results
Positive Control – A distinct colored line appears on the test pad.
Negative Control – The test pad shows no color change and matches the negative color block on the foil package.
